Bio;

Working out of his studio in Peterborough Ontario Lyall Brownlee creates art in the form of acrylic paintings, sculpture and digital images. First introduced to art through skateboard culture as a youth, his artistic interests have broadened over time but his aesthetic and DIY approach remain true to those early influences. Lyall has exhibited consistently in group and solo shows over the past several years, having had the opportunity to show in several artist run centers, commercial galleries and alternative spaces.

Artist Statement;

The brain is an unpredictable biological computer. This computer receives its inputs from the physical world. Images, experiences, and stories are collected and contribute to complex equations that are processed by contemplation. My biological computer is programmed such that the output at times occurs in the form of a twisted cartoon of reality. Having always felt inept at conversation this visual regurgitation of my thoughts provides an alternative means of communicating my personal ideas and opinions. With my unique brand of humour and combination of influences I create this imaginary place based on a combination of daily social observations, experiences and introspection.
